The best street style from Paris Fashion Week 2020
And so to Paris (September 23 to October 1), the final stop in the spring/summer 2020 world tour that has taken us from New York to London to Milan.
In the French capital, tradition reigns supreme, the line-up heavy with the weight and pull of some of the oldest and most respected heritage houses – think Chanel, Dior, Givenchy, Saint Laurent – as well as the most exciting shows of the season: Celine, Valentino, Chloé, Balenciaga, Comme des Garçons, Off-White, Thom Browne and Stella McCartney, to name a few. A series of significant sophomore collections could prove critical at Nina Ricci, Lacoste and Lanvin, too. And then there’s the new guard – Marine Serre, Y/Project, Rokh, Atlein, Ottolinger and Kwaidan Editions – shaking things up.
Away from the catwalk, expect to see streets of signature, on-point Parisian style. The Chanel obsession looks set to continue, too – think CHA-NEL emblazoned mules, co-ordinating crop tops and accessories – as Virginie Viard presents her first ready-to-wear collection for the maison (having already shown her first cruise and haute couture collections).
Here, Vogue’s Jonathan Daniel Pryce turns his lens on the best-dressed show guests at PFW.
